PhysioLink Porters Lake’s friendly and professional staff are committed to lifelong continuing education, skill enhancement and community involvement.


Ashley Bellefontaine PT, Co-Owner

Ashley graduated from Dalhousie University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.  She received the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy Award, the Nova Scotia Orthopaedic Division Award and the School of Physiotherapy Research Award upon graduation.  She works as a physiotherapist and part-time clinic manager.  She has completed post graduate courses in Manual Therapy, Neural Mobilization, Advanced Acupuncture, and Movement Impairment Syndromes.  Ashley is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and she recently completed her certification in Rost Therapy, treating pre- and post-natal pelvic girdle pain.

Shauna Taylor PT, Co-Owner

Shauna graduated from Dalhousie University in 2008 with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy, following a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2006 from UNB. She received the Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy Research Award upon graduation. Shauna began her physiotherapy career in Calgary, AB working in both a private practice setting, as well as in inpatient orthopedics at the Rockyview General Hospital. Shauna joined the Physiolink Porters Lake team in 2010. Shauna has completed post graduate courses in Advanced Acupuncture, MacKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment, and Movement Impairment Syndromes. Shauna is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and frequently takes advantage of professional development courses offered through the CPA. During her free time, Shauna enjoys practicing yoga, running, and spending quality time with her family.

Dhara Raol, PT

Dhara graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. She has post graduate training in Manual therapy, Acupuncture, Mulligan techniques and taping techniques. Dhara is an enthusiastic, motivated and engaging physiotherapist whose main focus of treatment is patient education, exercise prescription and hands on. She is committed to motivating her clients to achieve full recovery and prevent further injury through education. Dhara plans to take continuing education courses to broaden her knowledge and skills in Manual therapy and Acupuncture. Dhara believes in active, healthy lifestyle. Outside the professional realm, she enjoys family life and outdoor activities such as hiking and biking.

Robyn During, RMT

Robyn graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in June 2010 with a Diploma in Massage Therapy and a Certificate in Special Needs Outreach. She is a member of the Massage Therapist’s Association of Nova Scotia. She has recently completed Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage Basic Course. Robyn has also been active as a massage therapist volunteer for the United Way, Juvenile Diabetes and Breast Cancer Fundraising events. She is excited to be part of the Physiolink Porters Lake team.

Tanya Murphy, RMT

Tanya graduated from ICT Northumberland Massage College in 2009. She has specialized in myofascial release, sports and pregnancy massage and has recently taken a course on the effects of massage therapy and cancer treatments. She is a member of the Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS). Tanya believes in tailoring her massage therapy treatment to the individual and has a sincere goal of bringing pain relief to her clients. She is a proud supporter of kids sports on the Eastern Shore and can often be found at our local rink, soccer and baseball fields in her spare time! She is excited to be a part of the Porters Lake PhysioLink Team.

Jessica Frankland, RMT

Jessica graduated from Algonquin’s three year Massage Therapy program in 2010. She has worked in many different settings including gym/spa, treating both sports and work related injuries. She also spent time in Australia where she learned many different therapeutic techniques.
Having grown up participating in sports and competitive dance, Jessica knows the tools to help you achieve your recovery goals with massage therapy. She is also a Fitness Instructor and can assist you in improving your posture, energy and performance.
Jessica specializes in deep tissue therapy.

Michelle Hilchie (Admin)

Michelle graduated in 1994 from Dartmouth Career College with honours in Medical Office Management. She joined the Physiolink Porters Lake team in 1995 and completed further education in computer literacy, human resources and office procedures. As well, she has completed training in weight training, fitness leadership and fitness testing.

Christine Hallett (Admin)

Chris completed a Secretarial Diploma in 1974 and has worked extensively in customer service and administration. She has furthered her education with courses in office procedures and hands-on training as a Physiotherapy Aid since joining PhysioLink Porters Lake in 2001. Christine also holds the position of PhysioLink Safety Officer.

Lisa Privett (Admin)

Lisa is an alumna of Mount St. Vincent University Bachelor of Arts Program as well as the Nova Scotia Community College in Environmental Engineering Technology Program.  Lisa has a background in Program Coordination and Development and Client Services and is an avid community organizer and volunteer on the Eastern Shore with such organizations as MusGo Rider and the Seaforth Hall Community Society.

Laurie Ballard (Admin)

Laurie Ballard graduated from the Academic and Career Connections Program at NSCC and is currently awaiting enrollment into the licensed Practical Nursing Program at NSCC. Laurie has been working in the Porters Lake area for over 10 years in the customer service field.  When Laurie is not working or studying, she is found spending any spare time with family and pets. Laurie joined the PhysioLink team at the beginning of 2016 and she is excited and optimistic to see what the future has in store.

Pippa Wood (Admin)

Pippa graduated from NSIT in 1983 with Applied Arts degree and attended Saint Mary University. Pippa has a background in the fields of healthcare and tourism. She has completed courses in Time Management, Situational Leadership, Problem Solving and Communication and Team Building. She joined the PhysioLink team in 2007, and has been working on a part-time basis ever since.  Pippa is an avid reader, dog walker and loves to cook for her family and friends.

Amanda Monk, Kin.

Amanda graduated from Dalhousie University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Before joining the PhysioLink team, Amanda worked in private clinics as a Kinesiologist and Physiotherapy Assistant. At Dalhousie University, she focused on Ergonomics and Physical Activity Prescription and Health for all populations and ages.
Outside the clinic, Amanda has provided medical coverage for various sport teams and events including hockey, football, gymnastics, volleyball, and goal ball. She believes in living an active lifestyle and stays active by enjoying hockey, rugby, and working out at the gym.
Currently, Amanda is working on her CSEP-CPT to become a certified Personal Trainer and K-taping certification.

Carol Ann Sweeney, C. Ped.

Carol Ann (FitRight Orthotics) graduated from University of Guelph in 1994 with a Bachelors in Science and Human Kinetics, then pursued her certification as a pedorthic technician in 2002 and a Canadian Certified Pedorthist in 2007. Carol Ann is proficiently trained to do thorough foot assessments to design the required orthotic and manufacture them in her own lab in Porters Lake. Carol Ann prides herself in providing the best personal customer service to all her clients at Physiolink Porters Lake.
