Physiotherapy is the health care profession dedicated to restoring and enhancing mobility, overall fitness, health and well-being. Physiotherapy treatment helps to control inflammation, reduce edema and pain and restore full mobility, strength and function using manual therapy, acupuncture, therapeutic exercise and electrical or thermal modalities. It incorporates client education as an essential tool in the restoration of health and the promotion of fitness and healthy living.

Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, to achieve a therapeutic response. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves the circulation of the blood and lymph and relieves pain. The Functional Rehabilitation Program consists of a focused approach to functional restoration through the use of client education sessions, site specific strengthening programs, general conditioning and cardiovascular training, job simulation, nutritional counselling and physiotherapy/massage therapy. Occupational therapy and psychology services are incorporated as required.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment which is both curative and preventative. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific acupuncture points causing physiological changes in the body promoting the body’s own healing mechanisms. Acupuncture services are provided by Physiotherapists with post graduate training in acupuncture.

For clients requiring in-home treatment, home care physiotherapy is available in specific areas.
